Rudd toured as both a headlining act and support for the Dave Matthews Band in a portion of their summer North American tour, and toured with Canadian singer-songwriter Jeremy Fisher for much of 2007 and touring Australia later in the year. White Moth's success earned him another ARIA Awards nomination for best blues and roots album at the 2007 ceremony, but lost to John Butler Trio's multi-platinum Grand National. The first single from White Moth was the first track off the album, "Better People". The album peaked at #30 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in June. In 2007, Rudd's fourth studio album, White Moth was released. Food In The Belly soon went gold.įood in the Belly was the first album by Rudd released in the United States and he followed the release with a tour, including a string of European dates with supporting act Keller Williams. Those two years were full of travel and connection with people and places and spirit, and definitely Food in the Belly is a reflection of that. It was just a reflection of my journey for the past two years after recording Solace. Rudd embarked on a 25-date tour of the USA throughout the summer of 2005, starting on Boston and ending in Chicago.Īfter Rudd released the live album Good Spirit in early 2005, Rudd's third studio album, Food in the Belly, soon followed. It was nominated for best blues and roots album at the ARIA awards and eventually was certified platinum. His second album, Solace, was released in 2004 and debuted in the top twenty in the Australian album charts. His first studio album, To Let, was released in 2002. Rudd could never focus on just the one instrument, preferring to find ways to combine them together, which he became very good at and showcased when he began travelling and busking.ĭuring his travels, Rudd discovered an affinity for Canada, where he has dual citizenship, his first ever release was Live in Canada, was recorded there in 2001. While growing up also learned guitar, clarinet, and saxophone.
